1/27/2024 0 Comments Psychonauts gameplayIt is amazing that glitches this big made it into the final product even though the game spend many years in development. This will get you stuck permanently, again. If you shoot the 1st object you are forced to levitate it will become un-movable. Another bug is in the object levitation training area. When Raz gets to control a boat the boat can get stuck on the near-by wooden walkway, a clipping bug. The game suffers from bugs which can make you permanently stuck forcing you to load your last save point. The platforming action, while not very original still is fun and engaging. Each of the voices matches the character it belongs to perfectly. The graphics are inventive and the voice work in the game is excellent. The worlds are very creatively done, my favorite is the twisted "milkman conspiracy' level. Phychnauts allows the player to visit a variety of unique worlds, these words represents different character's inner psyches. Raz has to invade other characters psyches to unravel the mystery surrounding the psychonaut's camp. Your play as Raz, a gifted young psychic who had escaped from the circus to become a psychonaut. Psychonauts is a very creative game in terms of its concept. Psychonauts: very original and only slightly buggy This game is also available on Xbox, Xbox 360, PC, and PS4 platforms. This PS2 version of the Psychonauts game is rated T for Teen because it features cartoon violence and minor language. You can also play it on certain backward-compatible models of the PlayStation 3. Thanks to its addictive gameplay and utterly unique aesthetic, Psychonauts is an underappreciated classic game for the PlayStation 2. Featuring a cast of flamboyant and quirky characters and a charming, humorous story, Psychonauts won the BAFTA Games Screenplay Award in 2006. The game is particularly noted for its sharp and clever dialogue, which was written by Tim Schafer and Erik Wolpaw, a scriptwriter on Portal 2. The game is made under the umbrella of his development studio, Double Fine Productions. Psychonauts for the PS2 is the brainchild of designer Tim Schafer. However, if your astral projection items run out, you are ejected from the subject's subconscious, and you lose all your progress in that world. Should your health be depleted, Raz will be transported back to the last checkpoint. Players will have a limited number of attempts to complete the world. Each of the worlds ends with a boss battle that finally resolves the character's emotional problems. One world features a nonstop dance party while another is based around the Battle of Waterloo. Each world contains a distinctly trippy aesthetic. The game features more than 10 mental worlds in addition to the real world camp level. Raz, as an outsider, must save the camp's children from the nefarious plans of the demented Dr. The Psychonauts game for the PS2 takes place in Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp, which doubles as a secret training camp for mentally gifted children. The player can assign up to three of these psychic powers to buttons on the PS2 controller or choose them individually from the selection screen. Each character's mind also contains a figment of the imagination, which can improve your overall psi rank. As you progress through the game, you can obtain new psychic abilities and upgrade old ones. Psychonauts lets you unleash a barrage of mental energy against hostile brain guardians. Help Raz to complete his mission by using the powers of invisibility, mind control, confusion, telekinesis, and psychic blasts. Instead, it erects barriers and hostile figures to keep Raz from entering the brain's subconscious. The subject's brain does not want Raz's help. Use Raz's special powers to solve object-oriented puzzles and eradicate potential threats. After entering a subject's mind, players will experience the same emotions and thoughts as the subject during the game. This includes diagnosing and treating mental illness and coming to terms with agonizing childhood memories. To complete his studies, Raz must enter the minds of his classmates and help them overcome an assortment of personal issues. The game follows him as he works to become an operative with a highly classified intelligence organization. The story of Psychonauts revolves around the character of Raz, a gifted young psychic and the son of a circus performer. Overcome dangerous obstacles and test your reflexes in this quirky platformer. The Psychonauts game for the Sony PlayStation 2 immerses you in a world of action and adventure. 1/27/2024 0 Comments Headless drupalIf you are a large organization with many digital properties to maintain and update, then a decoupled Drupal backend can make your life a lot easier. Why Should Marketers Consider Decoupled Drupal? Make Multi-Platform a Breeze If you would like to dive in further, here is a great blog by Dries Buytaert on decoupled Drupal architecture in 2018. Here’s an image to help you visualize the difference between a more traditional Drupal architecture and a decoupled Drupal setup. To put it very simply, decoupled Drupal separates your front end experiences from the back end CMS. The Drupal CMS serves as an interface for editors to enter content, but its primary use is as a store for content. The visitor will see pages created with Javascript frameworks (like Angular.js, React.js, or Ember), rather than a traditional Drupal theme. With decoupled Drupal, a website visitor will not interact with Drupal directly, much like shoppers do not interact with the back of a brick and mortar store. The back of the store exists to house items that employees can access and feature in the departments for customers to see. You walk in and enjoy the ambiance, interact with the items across departments, maybe chat with an employee, but you never venture into the back of the store. Think about your favorite department store. But do you know what it means and what the implications of decoupled Drupal are for marketers? In this guide we will define decoupled Drupal and share three reasons why marketers should consider a decoupled architecture as they evolve their digital experience platforms. If you are considering a move to Drupal 8, or upgrading your current Drupal platform, it’s likely that you’ve come across the term “decoupled Drupal”, aka “headless Drupal”. Then open the user_login.js file, paste this code into it and save the file: 'use strict' Īngular.module('er_login', ) The html for this page was borrowed from the page source of the Signin Template for Bootstrap, and then converted into an Angular JS Form. Open the user_login.html file, paste this code into it and save the file: Hop into the app directory, then make a folder called user_login, along with two files user_login.html and user_login.js: cd app After that, click the Server tab and make sure the following boxes are checked: json Then click the edit resources link and check the box next to each resource (at minimum we must enable the user login resource for this demo): comment Then create a new endpoint by going to admin/structure/services/add with the following info: machine name: api Install and Setup the Services Module for Drupal drush dl services Now we can install Drupal by visiting the following URL in our browser: After the installation, remove the write permissions from the settings.php file: chmod 444 settings.php 5. Install Drupal Alongside the App cd /var/www/headless-drupal Unfortunately another bower project is using the angular-drupal namespace, so we can't use bower for this, le sigh. Then include the angular-drupal javascript file in the index.html file immediately after the other angular javascript files in the tag, and before the app.js file: Then install this new dependency by running npm install again: sudo npm install Open the package.json file and add angular-drupal to the devDependencies: "angular-drupal": "^0.0.2" Next, include the bootstrap css file, and the jquery and bootstrap javascript files in the index.html file right before the closing tag: This command will install bootstrap, and its dependency jquery. Open the /var/Then run the bower install command again: bower install We should now be able to view the Angular Seed Project in our browser, just navigate to: 2. View the Angular Seed Project in a Browser Once you have the prerequisites mentioned above installed, you can git clone (or download and extract it to /var/www/headless-drupal) the project:īower install 1. The complete code for this example app is available here. To keep things simple, and in the spirit of "Hello World", the application will let us login using credentials from the Drupal website, and then say hello to the user upon successful login. The inspiration for writing this tutorial came after completing my first Angular JS module ( angular-drupal), which of course is for Drupal! This tutorial describes how to build a very simple de-coupled Drupal web application powered by Angular JS and Bootstrap. 1/27/2024 0 Comments Remind me you tuberesidents who smoke cigarettes has reached an all-time low. In that respect, it continues to forge ahead, making its mission to tackle the shortcomings of the 'Pixel' launcher and open the door to that experience to all devices. More than almost any other launcher, Action Launcher brought gestures to the Android home screen in a big way. Leaving annoying badges on icons until you view the message advertising badge functionality on Plus.) It used to be a solid app but is now only available in a beta release that has some very glaring stability issues. The final feature worth noting (though certainly not the final one you could find) is the ability to set the type and function of gestures, to a degree that is probably second only to Action Launcher. It even lets you enable a built-in night mode, which is especially helpful for older versions of Android that don’t have it integrated by default. However, Nova goes much further, such as by letting you fully tweak the orientation, grid size, transparency, opening gestures, and hidden apps for the drawer. These include basic UI elements like home screen grid size, screen edge padding size, dock look, and feel, and even the page indicator behavior. Its main focus, though, is customizations, and it gives you plenty of them to choose from. Nova is a classic Android launcher that has long been known for a relatively light resource footprint and deep customization options.Īs with many launchers, Nova allows custom icons and is compatible with practically every icon pack you could want to install. Must give Nova a lot of low-level access to your device, which can be dangerous for stability and security. Sometimes you can set something that you can’t set back (like removing an app drawer for swipe drawer and not being able to re-enable the app drawer again). 1/27/2024 0 Comments Google chrome new password creatorPlatform compatibility: You likely access your online accounts from multiple devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, phones, as well as through different web browsers. While free plans may be sufficient for some, those that need more functionality may prefer paid plans. The company has completely stopped producing New 3DS units in lieu of the somewhat cheaper 2DS, and the list of upcoming 2018 North American 3DS releases is woefully short. After all, Nintendo’s got the Switch, their strange handheld/home console Frankenstein’s monster of a machine. All in all, fairly standard Japanese role-playing game stuff.īad language also rears it's head from time to time, with words such as sh*t, b*tch and b*stard cropping up in dialogue - alongside the words a*shole and a*shat as insults. It’s not hard to find material online about the inevitable, impending death of the 3DS as a handheld console. An obligatory hot spring scene shows your female (and male) party members wrapped in a towel, while one female character who decided to forego the towel only has her modesty protected by some well place steam (or bubbles). Other such references include comments like "Those massive knockers float around like they own the place" and "Do you want your boobs grabbed?", as well as a conversation option where the protagonist Alto can declare how much of a masochist he is. Often commenting on the ladies bodies, or lamenting the 'chastity' of the temple women, most of the sexual innuendo tends to emanate from his mouth. On occasion, there is also suggestive dialogue and sex references, particularly when talking to your party member Rusty. Outside of battle, there are a handful of still images of characters stabbed or impaled by weapons, sometimes accompanied by sizeable blood stains on clothing. Hits are accompanied by impact sounds, flashes and the occasional blood spurt effect. Players do battle with various fantastical creatures, such as fairies, jelly blobs and orcs, as well as human soldiers, in turn-based combat, using swords, spears and spells. "It's cute! It has big, googly eyes and legs that look like they might fall off at any moment!"Īs a role-playing game, Stella Glow does have battles - and therefore violence - although it is relatively minor in severity. You're gonna be dead meat if you can't dodge it!" They may be a little trickier than some other role-playing games, more along the lines of Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics than simple stuff like Pokemon, but they aren't as punishing as either.įor younger players, Stella Glow is very text heavy, with a strong reliance on story-telling, which means being a strong reader is key. The battles aren't exceptionally difficult, nor do they require flawless strategies, especially as levelling up on the battlefield - through killing enough enemies usually - will restore your health too, and can be a useful strategy to boot. In terms of accessibility, don't let the strategic battles fool you - Stella Glow actually isn't all that bad when it comes to ease of use. How easy is Stella Glow to pick up and play? Where you position your troops is key, as each member of your team has different strengths and weaknesses in battle - for example, sturdy knight Archibald excels at dealing out and absorbing damage, and makes a great protector for the weaker units, unlike the water witch Lisette, who's usefulness lies in her ability to heal her allies than in her raw attack power. Your team and your enemies take it in turns to move around the battlefield, and attack, defend, or sling spells and special attacks at each other, with the aim being to reduce the enemy's health to zero. Taking place on large, grid-based battlefields, these battles require a bit of forward planning and strategy if you want to come out victorious. Your time with Stella Glow will mostly be spent watching the story unfold, during large, "visual novel" style cutscenes, with the odd battle punctuating the story. 1/26/2024 0 Comments Hunter hunter authorBefore starting the bestselling series that made him popular around the world, he wrote a few more standalone books, which also included the novelization of the 1985 movie, Target with Gene Hackman and Matt Dillon. While still working for The Sun, in 1980, he wrote his debut novel The Master Sniper featuring a WWII Nazi hitman. What’s even more important, in 2003 he received the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism. A year later, in 1988, Stephen Hunter won the American Society of Newspaper Editors Distinguished Writing Award in the criticism category. In 1982 he started working as a film critic and reviewer, where he remained until in 1997 he moved to the Washington Post working in the same position after the Post contacted him when one of their film critics left. Three years later, in 1971, he joined the Baltimore Sun, where he worked for the next ten years at the copy desk of the newspaper’s Sunday edition.
